For over three hundred years, the De La Salle Christian Brothers have served as an order of teaching Brothers in the Roman Catholic Church. There are 10,000 Brothers worldwide, with 800 serving in the United States. In the United States, the Brothers operate 120 schools and childcare institutions. The New York Province is one of six Provinces in this country. It includes New York City, nearby New Jersey, upstate New York, and the Detroit area of Michigan. In this region the Brothers own and operate seven high schools, Manhattan College, and serve in several parish schools and childcare facilities. Some New York Province Brothers are missionaries in Africa, the Holy Land, and other developing nations.

Saint La Salle Auxiliary

The Saint La Salle Auxiliary was established in 1956 to assist the Brothers financially in their educational works, in the training of their young members, and in providing the necessary care for the sick and retired Brothers.

The Saint La Salle Auxiliary distributes Memorial Enrollment Folders and Sympathy cards as well as various cards for the living. Those enrolled share in the spiritual merits of the prayers and works of the Brothers and their associates.

The New York Provincialate
Development Office
The New York Provincialate Development Office was established some twenty years ago to develop a sense of stewardship and to secure monies for the nursing care of the Brothers.

A newsletter, "The LaSallian Notes", is published quarterly by the Development Office. Articles focus on the activities and mission of the Brothers.
